Who is Sequingirlie

I am Samantha Da Costa - a creative facilitator, sewist, podcaster and host of community spaces centred on making, creativity and belonging.

Sewing and making have been part of my life for many years. Over time, they’ve become less about priducing things and more about how creativity can support us. They can help us think. slow down, play and feel more at home in ourselves.

I believe creativity doesn’t need to be pressured or perfect to be meaningful. Making can be gentle, pratical, joyful and deeply human. It can be a way of learning to trust ourselves without fear and to stay connected to others.

Alongside my online work, I run Southern Sewcial, a regular in-person sewing and creative gathering.

If you are drawn to thoughtful making, creative freedom, or community-led spaces, you’re very welcome here.

I occasionally write and collaborate with brands and publications whose values align with my own. Here are a few selected pieces.

I also love to write about creativity, making and everyday life. Of you would like to read what I have written you can head over to my Substack - here.
